    Carbon monoxide awareness

Raising awareness of carbon monoxide (CO) is a primary focus for us.

Alongside the work we do to increase awareness, we collaborate with organisations who work with different age groups and needs to ensure the information is tailored and accessible. This includes our CO education programme for primary schools and working with the Fire and Rescue Services who promote these safety messages through their safety visits.

We’re working to educate healthcare professionals through a number of eLearning modules to help a broad range of health and social care staff better understand the harm caused by exposure to CO, how to identify those at risk and protect them from harm.

Our CO ecosystem, launched in June 2024, brings together utility companies, charities, and businesses outside of our sector, to share their CO data and build a data platform to create a valuable, user-friendly tool for all. The data it provides will help us shape our approach to CO in the future.
